about COYA intimates
who is COYA intimates?
COYA intimates is a lingerie brand from the netherlands, founded by lisa van kaathoven. we make intimates from natural fibres, designed to be felt rather than seen. our first collection, the silk collection, is made from 100% mulberry silk. COYA intimates is a registered trade name of The Conscious Generation (KvK 84694793).
where is COYA intimates designed and made?
every piece is designed in the netherlands. the silk collection is made in a women-owned factory in china that specialises in natural-fibre intimates. you can read why we chose this partner in our story.
fabric & care
what is the silk collection made of?
the fabric is 100% grade 6A mulberry silk, 16 momme, double-layered and dyed in our deep brown. the gusset of the silk thong is 100% cotton. where a piece needs stretch, the elastic is made with ROICA™ V550 and covered in silk. the rings, sliders and hooks are gold-plated stainless steel.
is the silk tested for harmful substances?
yes. our dyed silk fabric is certified to OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 in product class I, the strictest class, which is used for baby articles. this means the fabric was tested in a laboratory for harmful substances after dyeing. the certificate belongs to our fabric maker: 26.HCN.19796, issued by Hohenstein, and you can check it on oeko-tex.com. it covers the fabric, not the finished piece.
is the silk collection biodegradable?
not as a whole, and we would rather tell you exactly why. silk and cotton are natural fibres. our stretch fibre, ROICA™ V550, holds a Cradle to Cradle Material Health Certificate™ at Gold level, and in a controlled composting test (ISO 14855-1) about half of it broke down within 24 months, while conventional elastane showed no breakdown, according to its maker Asahi Kasei. it is still a synthetic fibre, and the metal hardware does not break down. so we don't call our pieces biodegradable.
what does 16 momme mean?
momme is the weight of silk fabric. 16 momme is a light, fluid silk. because we use it double-layered, it drapes like water without being sheer.
how do i care for my silk?
hand wash, or use a cold delicate cycle in a laundry bag with a very mild detergent. dry cleaning is also possible.
fit & sizing
which size should i choose?
our pieces come in XS to XL. every product page has a size guide: bust and band measurements in cm for the silk bra, and waist, rise and hip for the silk thong. our model wears size S with a B-cup.
how does the silk bra fit?
the silk bra is a wire-free triangle bralette with thin gathered straps. size down for more lift, size up for a softer, looser fit.
does the silk set come in one size?
yes. you choose one size, and both the silk bra and the silk thong come in that size. if you need two different sizes, choose the silk bra and the silk thong separately.

how much is shipping, and when is it free?
- netherlands: €4.25, free from €125, 2–5 business days
- belgium: €7.50, free from €125, 3–6 business days
- rest of the eu and the uk: €12.95, free from €250, 4–10 business days (uk 5–12)
- united states: €24.95, 6–14 business days
- other countries: €24.95, 10–22 business days
free shipping is applied automatically at checkout. every order ships from the netherlands with track & trace.
which countries do you ship to?
all 27 eu countries and the united kingdom, plus the united states, canada, australia, new zealand, switzerland, norway, iceland, japan, south korea, singapore, hong kong, taiwan, the united arab emirates and israel.
will i pay import duties?
within the eu, never. for orders outside the eu, import duties and taxes may apply in your country.
returns
can i return my order?
yes, within 14 days of delivery. because intimates are worn closest to the skin, we can only accept pieces that are unworn, unwashed and in their original packaging with all tags attached. email info@coyaintimates.com with your order number to start a return, and read the full shipping & returns policy.
who pays for return shipping?
return shipping is at your cost. if you return your entire order from within the eu, we refund your original standard shipping costs.
